Yes you can have internet in tech school. These are typically your options:

• Hotspot with your phone

• Buy a hotspot device

• Built in dorm wi-fi that you have to pay monthly subscription fee

• Built in dorm wi-fi that is free (very unlikely)

• Pay an internet provider and have a modem installed in your dorm room

My tech school was in Pensacola, Florida at NAS Pensacola and you were able to purchase internet from sprint which had a location on base. Once we did that, all we had to do was set up their modem in our dorm room. Although the available internet may vary from base-to-base, you will be able to access the internet if you choose to do so.

Pro Tip: If you do get a internet service with a modem installed, end your contract and turn your modem back in before you leave. It can be easier to just transfer your account to your roommate and let them cancel or transfer when they leave. However, more times than not, there will be issues and you will still get charged since you are the creator of the account. It’s tough, but don’t do others favors when it comes to your internet account. Close out the account before you leave. Because closing the account after you leave is extremely difficult because you have to rely on someone else to turn in the modem. Just do it yourself while you’re still at Tech School.
