As a member of the Regional Band in the 3N1X1 career field, you will have the opportunity to showcase your musical talents while serving in the United States Air Force. As part of an elite musical ensemble, you will entertain and inspire audiences through live performances, community engagements, and ceremonial events. This position requires exceptional musical skills, versatility, professionalism, and a commitment to representing the Air Force with honor and pride.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Musical Performance: Perform as a musician in various ensembles, such as concert bands, jazz bands, small ensembles, or rock/pop groups. Showcase your proficiency on a specific instrument or as a vocalist. Deliver high-quality musical performances that entertain, inspire, and uplift audiences. Demonstrate a wide range of musical styles and genres.
2. Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach events, parades, festivals, and other public appearances to promote the Air Force and boost morale. Engage with diverse audiences, including civilians, military personnel, and dignitaries. Foster positive relationships with local communities through the power of music.
3. Ceremonial Support: Provide musical support for official ceremonies, military protocol events, and other formal occasions. Perform patriotic and ceremonial music as required. Uphold military traditions and standards during performances. Collaborate with other military units to ensure seamless coordination and execution of ceremonial events.
4. Rehearsals and Training: Dedicate time to individual practice and ensemble rehearsals to maintain musical proficiency and ensemble cohesion. Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance musical skills, stage presence, and overall performance capabilities. Stay updated on current trends and advancements in the music industry.
5. Professionalism and Military Standards: Embody military professionalism and uphold Air Force core values at all times. Adhere to military grooming and appearance standards. Maintain a high level of discipline, punctuality, and respect for chain of command. Demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and a positive attitude when working with fellow band members and other military personnel.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in playing a musical instrument or vocal performance (demonstration of skill during audition required).
- Ability to read and interpret sheet music and perform in a variety of musical styles and genres.
- Excellent stage presence, showmanship, and ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with band members and military personnel.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest musical standards and representing the Air Force with professionalism.
- Ability to adapt to changing performance requirements and work well under pressure.
- Willingness to travel and perform at various locations, both domestically and internationally.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance.
