Enlisted In-Flight Refueling Specialist (AFSC 1A0X1) is an exciting and challenging job in the United States Air Force. This position is responsible for performing a variety of in-flight refueling tasks, from operating the refueling boom to supervising cargo- and passenger-loading and off-loading operations. This position requires excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety procedures and regulations strictly.
The duties of an Enlisted In-Flight Refueling Specialist include:
Directing receiver aircraft into air refueling position and advising receiver pilot of actions required to complete the refueling process
Operating refueling boom and transferring fuel between aircraft
Supervising cargo- and passenger-loading and off-loading operations
Checking and maintaining service equipment available on the flight
Performing jumpmaster duties when necessary
Ensuring accurate recording of all flight data and performance records
Completing all required reports and paperwork
Performing other duties as assigned
