As an Electrical Systems specialist in the 3E0X1 career field, you will play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems within Air Force facilities. Your responsibilities will include working with electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient electrical operations. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Installations: Install and maintain electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with electrical codes and regulations. Interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications to plan and execute installations. Install electrical wiring, conduits, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures to provide power and lighting to various facilities and equipment.
2. Electrical Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical malfunctions and perform repairs to restore functionality. Utilize testing equipment and tools to identify electrical issues and troubleshoot circuits, wiring, and equipment. Replace faulty components, such as switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and motors. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and electrical codes during repairs.
3. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment. Perform tests and measurements to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance. Clean and lubricate electrical components to prevent corrosion and ensure proper operation. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment inventory.
4. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and regulations while working with electrical systems. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety protocols. Ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards. Maintain a safe work environment and report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
5. Documentation and Reporting: Complete required documentation, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment inventories. Generate reports on electrical system status, maintenance activities, and recommended improvements. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to provide updates on projects and ongoing maintenance efforts.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Proficiency in electrical installations, repairs, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with electrical safety practices and procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and prolonged standing.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance.
