MEPS - Day 1

Day 1 at MEPS

Day 1 is testing day. When you arrive at the hotel, they have a room setup that you will check in to and they will give you a quick briefing. After that, the people who are going to test will get on the shuttle to ride over to the MEPS building.

Once you are in the MEPS building you will put any items you have (including your phone) into a closet, then you go check in with the Air Force liaison. They will give you a name tag and send you over to the testing room. Everyone will go in when they are called and take the ASVAB or verification test.

After the ASVAB you will take a personality test, this test doesn’t give you a score. It’s kind of a weird “this or that” type of quiz. I never heard anything else about it after taking it. Someone told me it was just to help see if there were any red flags that stood out with people. When you are done with testing, you wait until the shuttle is ready to take you back to the hotel.

You’ll then be able to text your recruiter to find out your score on the ASVAB. You will go back to the hotel for the night and check back into the room you went to initially, they will give you a dinner voucher and your hotel key. Unfortunately, you don’t get your hotel key until the end of the night, so you have to carry your things with you to the MEPS location and back. So pack light. Then you go to sleep and prepare to wake up early for the next day.
